Recruiting - How Does It Work [#permalink]
04 May 2007, 07:34
If anyone can chime in to help me understand this better, please do so.
From what I understand, at most schools you spend your first month or so getting your resume tightened up and then you spend most of first semester doing all the guest speaker schmoozing and corporate dinners and visits etc....
So then at some point in January you start applying and interviewing for internships? Does this sound right? Do most people land internships in Jan/Feb?
And then I guess a lot of people get offers at the end of their internships (some of them are exploding offers from what I've heard), and then when do people do most of their interviewing for jobs, any specific time in their second year, or all throughout?

there is an order they come to the school. Banks first, then Consultants & Marketing then some other people.
Not too sure, as I am kind of focused on the one line - some of the vague people are already questioning the "what if I want marketing, but if I don't get that and decide to intern with a bank?".
Noone has responded with "worry, as it is likely you will be unlikely get into something you clearly see as a second choice in this kind of competition".
