Hi,
This is my first try at the GMAT and at the age of 32 and married, this is probably my only shot before I have to start a family (yes, thats right - I have no option in this). A quick overview of me and advice sought out for will be appreciated
Work Exp - 7 years in IT Telecoms and currently a Senior Consultant and Line Manager
Education - Engineering in Electrical Electronics graduated with Distinction
Profile highlights - Excellent communication and client management skills brought about mainly because my core domain is IT Consultancy. This includes executing client specific projects and at the same time building relationships and growing the company's portfolio of Services provided
Key achievements - Started initially as a Developer and now, in 6 years, I manage clients and strategic account
ECs - Important Company awards, member of RSPCA and NSPCC to support cruelty and child abuse, member of immigration forums with excellent writing skills, proven interest in investments and taxation, compeering formal events and gatherings and a few more. Lot of my interests and hobbies add to my communication skills
Why MBA - Grown as much as possible without one. Plain engineering degree and no business background or qualifications currently hamper my progress plus I realize I am not professionally complete without a professional degree for the roles and responsibilities I seek
Future Roles/Career Path - Given the strong IT background, I know roles like Director of Strategic Initiatives, IT Director, Strategy or IT Communications Head are what I aspire for. I may learn I am good for a lot more through my MBA journey. The goal is to work in IT or/and branch out across domains on Banking, Healthcare etc
I am yet to take the GMAT and hence this question. With the above (though not completely detailed as I dont want take too much of your time), will it be possible to get into the top 10 UK/US Colleges if I score a mediocre 600 - 650? I want to know if I stand a shot or will they just reject me due to the score/ECs
Thanks
