Resume - Extra Curricular Coverage

Hi Stacy,
I read one of your posts about an MBA application resume and have a quick follow up. You discuss three sections: professional, education, and additional information. My questions pertain to extra curricular/volunteer activities and how they fit into the additional information section.
How much detail should one go into in discussing their activities? You mentioned the section is supposed to be brief, and so I want to keep it concise, but I also don't want to seem uninvolved and unspectacular because I've left out too much. Do you need to discuss the role, your accomplishments, dates, etc. for each volunteer activity? Do you pick and choose your best activities, or only cover recent activities? Do adcoms expect light coverage on the resume knowing that it will be covered in greater detail elsewhere?
Thanks for your help,
Steve
