i'm a canadian intending to stay in canada post-mba, so take my opinion with a grain of salt if you wish... but my take on it is that rotman isn't equal to the top 25 US business schools in terms of brand recognition in the states. as such, launching a career in the states immediately post-mba from rotman, while not impossible (from our 2015 class, we have Amy Bi, who got a job with Nike, for example), can be very difficult. that being said, you did mention that you're not opposed to starting your career here and then transitioning back to the states, and i think this is much, much easier. from what i've observed, your next employer cares only about your previous employment, and maybe if you have an mba or not, but not really where you go the mba.
if you have a long-term plan of having a career in the states by spending two years here doing your mba and 2-5 years after that with a post-mba career, then by all means.
