Hi,
After around 4.5 months of preparation, I gave my GMAT today and was more than shocked to see my score, but I have to accept this, no matter what I think. I am not sure where I went wrong only on the exam day. Neither I was tensed nor was I under prepared. If some people can guide me.
I explored all the resources I can, but to end up being on losing side. I started my preparation in mid July, and had scheduled my test for sep21, however due to some reasons, I postponed it to oct 22.
Materials that I went through -
1.
OG-12, Verbal and Quant review.
2.
OG - 10 (did atleast half of it..esp verbal part)
3. All the
MGMAT books (excluding CR - used CR bible)
Mock test scores -
1.
MGMAT 1 - 620
2.
MGMAT 2- 610
3.
MGMAT 3 - 660
4.
MGMAT 4 - 610
**** Then I took break from exams and started reviewing my mistakes **** After a month or so
5. GMAT Prep1 - 650
6. Kaplan - 590 --- felt scoring was too absurd...since got very few wrong
7. Knewton - 590 -- same for Kaplan
8. Platinum GMAT --- 660
*** Then again took 2 weeks off. Practiced more and reviewed more. ****
9. MGMAT5 - 670
10. MGMAT6- 690 -- M48, V36
11. PowerPrep GMAT - 720 --- M 49, V41
12. GMAT Prep2 - 690 -- M49, V34
13. GMAT Prep1 reset - 700 -- M49, V 35 ---only few Q's were repeated
14. GMAT Prep 2 reset - 690. -- M50, V32 --- same here.
15. Solved 4
GMAT club test verbal and 1 Math test.
I still thought I will be able to cross 710, since I was making some silly mistakes in above exams. But was disappointed to see the actual score of 590 M45, V27 (never got 27 even in toughest tests of Kaplan or MGMATS).
My dream to go to Columbia Business School and study Value Investments seems to be shattered, atleast for now. But I never thought I will be writing this kind of debrief, even in my wildest of dreams. But that's how LIFE is. Lets see how I take my dream further from this point.
