Hey Guys:
For those of us already in B'School and are now working on interview prep for summer/FT jobs, it would be nice to have a section on case interview preparation.

Some ideas for discussion -
- Various Case Materials
- Frameworks
- Post cases and discuss different approach to solving cases
- Have a case of the day and have the solution posted the next day (that way, atleast we will be motivated to do 1 case a day)
- Discuss the differences between each firm

I totally agree -- can anyone shed any light on appropriate books to use? In addition to the school consulting club resources, what other books are you guys using? I heard about 'The McKinsey Mind' but don't have much information beyond what user feedback from Amazon.

McKinsey Mind is not an Interview Guide. It's just a write up on how McK operates. Vault, Wetfeet has some good prep guides.

Yeah a forum.... just like we have: B-School Life.

Members can post a case every day and then wait for people to ask follow up questions. Then members can post more data on the questions as they are asked and then post a final solution.

Much like any other questions here. We can essentially have a great collection of cases to refer to and practice.

For stickies we can have the different frameworks and examples/writeups on different frameworks!

I didn't see the suggested forum, so I'm assuming it wasn't created.

I'm getting a late start in the MC recruiting process and just ordered Case in Point to start preparing for case interviews. Any good suggestions outside of Vault / Wet Feet?

Also, on a slightly related note -- curious if consulting firms that extend offers at the end of internships tend to pay for students' second year of school. I can't ask that question and risk that it might look like it influences my decision, because it really doesn't.

Please feel free to start a case interview thread. If there is enough interest, we can always create a forum and move all the threads there.

The Kellogg book is supposed to be good...a guy from BCG recommended it to me.

Praet, I think this will be a popular forum considering a large proportion of MBA students (current and prospective) are looking to transition into the field. I have an archive of cases from the guru himself, David Maister, that I would be more than happy to post. With luck, maybe we could get the old school crimson alumnus to partake.
