Hello All,
I am new to this site. I gave my GMAT few days ago and got a dismal 580 Q44 V25. I started my prep in Jan and to get this score i am a bit discouraged. I do plan to retake the test again after few months but i also wanted to share my experience and get some advice on how to plan my new prep.
Materials used: Honestly i stuck to
OG's
OG 11
OG Verbal Ed 1
OG Quant Ed 1
OG 12
OG Verbal Ed 2
MGMAT SC
I also have the following resources but never used them more than once as i was getting too confused on what to do and what not to do..
1000 series
Kaplan 2009
Kaplan verbal and Quant
Kaplan 800
PR
Mistakes:
One of the biggest mistakes i did was, i had lots of books /resources which made me worry more about finishing each resource but not fully understand what i mistakes i was making..My last one month, i focused only on
OG's and even there i was busy in finishing the material instead of just taking a step back and reviewing what i did right/wrong and learn and redo.
One week before the real test, i was burnt out, mentally drained and i just wanted to get done with the test. Not the right attitude
Another mistake was..I did not do enough tests, i used to think doing practice problems was more important that giving a 4 hour test , i was not worried about stamina as i do fine in 4 hour focused sessions so i practiced fewer tests may be 1-2 and on D day i was just lost the way questions were flowing across various sections.
As of now i am taking a 2-3 weeks break and in the mean time put together a plan, I intend to retake the test in August or Sept.
I would really like to get some advice on:
1) how should i plan my new prep as i am just lost right now and during my first attempt i had 3 months off but now i have started working and i can devote only maybe 3-4 hours a day.
2) If my prep material is good enough (as i am not very sure if am doing the right thing).
Thanks
