I want to move to an investment bank or a bigger firm and possibly into other areas such as asset management. I was hoping that given my work experience in finance and good academics, i would be a good candidate for an MBA program. The company I work for frowns upon part time studies etc. So I cannot really do that. Are there any schools I have a chance in for a full time?

So, if you're already a trader now, why do you want to go back to b-school for? Why do you think it will help? You already have a PhD - are you not sick of school? To each their own I suppose.
PhDs are a tough sell for b-school admissions (full-time programs). Folks with PhDs at the top b-schools tend to be life sciences folks, not engineers or engineers with finance experience.
Honestly, if you're really looking for an MBA, you may want to try part-time programs or executive programs in your area. Since you're in Chicago, I would look at Kellogg or Chicago part-time, which will allow you to keep your day job (and yes, you'd be a good fit for those part-time programs and have a reasonable shot of getting in assuming your GMAT is 700+, but your chances to their full-time program will likely be slim).
