Never thought I would have something so horrible to share.
I had my GMAT Today. Mocks had been ranging from 670-700 Q (44-49), V (34-39) range. So I had a realistic 700 in mind.
Reached venue in time. As destiny had planned, there was some issue with server, so all slots were being pushed back 2hrs or so. They gently told me to wait 2 more hours or ask for Free- reschedule. I thought for a while and made the Big Mistake. I said I would go for it. The next 2 hrs went by yawning and self-pep-talking.
AWA went superb, made solid 3 points with proper conclusion. IR was good, guessed one question and moved smoothly. Break. Huh! So far so good.
Quants, my main enemy was also fair enough. Questions were answerable and 2 min/ques was accurate. Had another break.
Verbal started. Within first 10, there was a passage and rest was good. Questions were harder than normal sources, or so I felt. May be I was fatigued or may be I was doing good. Question 41 was finished with 23 sec to spare. AND THEN it happened.
By the end, while I was proceeding through survey, at page 3, an error popped up. I immediately raised my hand and asked the instructor to look into it. She said it happens sometimes and restarted the system. I was standing there. She entered her admin credentials and then, out of the blue, question 41 appeared again! She said,"well, there you go". I was shocked at this, since I had already completed the whole section.
And she stood from the chair and before I could leap and touch the mouse to select any option and press next, IT TIMED OUT.
She said, we will raise a ticket with Pearson Vue and see what happens. As she directed, I, AGAIN went through the survey and and then my score came.
600- IR 7, Q 49, V 23. 23? 23?
I had never scored less than 34 since day 0 when I took GMATPrep 1. I cancelled my score and spent 1 more hour with the instructor while she raised the ticket and gave me the number. She has told me that they might look into the server
error log and video sessions to check the validity.
Either I get a reschedule or a retake. Either way, my R2 deadlines are in deep danger.
Time will tell.
Too tired and dumbfounded, I am in no state to think what just happened. Can anybody pitch in?
