Re: Until Vs Up Until [#permalink]
Few months ago, I chose A as my answer.

Doing it this time around, I chose D.

I did a search on this questions, and apparently there's 2 OAs. ( A and D). Atleast I'm close!

Re: Until Vs Up Until [#permalink]

Re: Until Vs Up Until [#permalink]
The battle is b/w A and D. A gives an impression that Inuit people led a nomadic life in past but not now. D removes this ambiguity by saying they are still leading nomadic life. hence my choice is D.

and in structures made of stones, bones, driftwood, and skins.
A. Until recently, the Inuit people led a nomadic existence, sheltering
B. During recent times, the Inuit people lead a nomadic existence,
sheltering.
C. In the times that are recent, the Inuit people led a nomadic existence,
sheltered.
D. Up until recently, the Inuit people, leading a nomadic existence,
have sheltered.
E. Until recent time, leading a nomadic existence, the Inuit people
were sheltered.
Can some one explain where to use Until and Up Until..........

ritula,

If they are continuing to live a nomadic life, why do we need until recently or up until recently. Either of them shows a shift that it was a pattern until recently and not any more.

Re: Until Vs Up Until [#permalink]
Agree with icandy,

D sounds somewhat redundant in that it indicates the shift happening twice

A is fine for me. Will go for A
