I have given 4 mock tests so far. In none of these tests I had 1st question, in-fact first 4-5 questions, as RC. Is that normal?
Moreover, last 3-4 questions have never been an RC.
Is that normal? Is that something I can count on? Has anybody seen an RC as his first 4 or last 3 questions?
The reason I ask is beacuse as the verbal section starts it takes me 2-3 questions to get into the rhythm and, moreover, towards the end I am sorta rushing. Does GMAT understand such scenarios and try to make test takers life a bit easy by deliberately starting off and closing in with kind of questions that one can answer in less time? Or is it just a mere coincidence for me? Maybe because I have never score very high in Verbal and GMAT knows that I am sucker so gives me easier of the options :p ?
Thanks.
That is absolutely normal.
There isn't a specific pattern for questions to appear as far as GMAT is concerned. But usually the Verbal starts with SC followed by CR and then RC. But then again questions from any section may appear any time. 2-3 questions are okay but try to get those questions correct.
I did notice something that if I get the first 2-3 questions incorrect, then it takes a while for tougher questions to appear. You will have to get a string on questions correct to repair your damaged score. Plus the experimental questions. So don't compromise on those 2-3 questions as well.
