Hello Linda,
I wrote the GMAT a few weeks ago and I was wondering what are my chances of getting into one of the following schools: Columbia, NYU, Wharton, Kellog and Chicago.
Background:
Age: 30 yo
Degree: Bachelor Mechanical Engineering (GPA 3.26/4.0)
Degree: Master of Engineering
GMAT: 710 (V38 Q49)
Work Experience (5 years):
I spent the past five years working in space robotics for NASA. My career started off by analyzing space robotic performance for NASA. It quickly advanced to the point that I was working on the design of new space technology projects. For example, I helped in convincing NASA that the technology is available to repair the Hubble Telescope robotically. NASA initially supported this project, however it has since been cancelled by the new administration. I have also worked on the design of US Military projects such as an autonomous satellite system. I also, have a patent with my name on it from a research project I worked on.
Reason for MBA:
I believe by combining my technical experience with management training I can take a lead role, as an administrator, in the development of new technologies. It would be my goal to lead projects from conception to system design.
You have a competitive profile for all these schools, however, you need to refine you goal and show a link between those specific programs and your goal.
Good luck!
