When to use Infinitive, Gerund and Participle ??? [#permalink] New post 24 May 2006, 19:59
Hi,

I know what Infinitive (to + verb), Gerund (Verb + ing and acting as a noun) and Participle (verb + ing and acting as an adjective) mean.

But hoe do we know when to use which form? In SC, some of the choices are same, except for the difference between the verb form. Right now I get most questions right as I look for a parallel form.

But I want to understand what is the correct use of all these three objects, i.e. what's the appropriate situation for using each kind.

Would really appreciate any assistance.

Thanks!
