Yep B it is.

Those questions test your ability to square numbers. I choosed two decimals to inhibit guessing.

It's B, but the result is not 9.8225, 3.15 x 3.15 equals 9,9225.

My way of doing this problem is this

we know that sqrt(10 ) is between 3-4

(3+something)^2 = 10
3^2+(something )^2+6*something = 10
9+(something )^2+6*something = 10
therefore (something )^2+6*something <1
now let us start with choice C

3.2 => some thing = 0.2 but 6*.2 is 1.2 >1

there fore g to choice B

3.15 => somethign = .15 now 6*.15 = .9
.15*.15 = 0.0225

this is the closeest you can get to 10

hence B

Sperumba, you forget that 10.0000001 even though it is larger than 10 is closer to the desired solution than 9.9.

The answer 3.15 is correst, but you still have to verify whether or not 3.20^2 is closer to 10 than 3,15^2.
