Hi All,
I have done my master degree from IIT KAnpur? Do i need to take English Language test?

Well let me ask you a question here - do you feel you need it? Would anyone look at your written capabilities and question it even slightly?

If yes, then you have your answer.

Applying to UK schools you would need it in order to get a visa - I would think the US would be the same. That's even if the school would allow it. Better safe and get it to prove you have the capability.

Here is a funny story: When I applied for an MBA I had done my undergrad in France (in French)....so even though I was American and had grown up in the US...I still had to take the TOEFL to apply to Stanford! They made me do it!

If your undergraduate degree was not taught in English and/or if English isn't your first language a lot of schools do require it :)
