Scott, I want to find out if the gmat score requirement for Kellogg that you have stated in the book is current. Have you heard of anybody who got accepted but he or she was below the average gmat score for Kellogg?
Thanks again to both of you. Wish me luck for my acceptance to either Kellogg or Chicago.
Thanks for the kind words! I'm REALLY glad that we've been able to help.
That GMAT stat for Kellogg is the latest that we have, from the 2003 - 2004 application season, I believe. But note that that's NOT a requirement. It's just the middle 80% range of the incoming class. So, about 10% of the class has a GMAT score below that (and 10% above it). No school has a hard GMAT cut-off point, but we usually advise applicants to try to at least his a school's lower end of its GMAT range in order to make sure that their GMAT score doesn't cause them to get rejected. But, every year there are a lot of people who get in with scores lower than that. So, don't worry too much. A really strong application will overcome a lower-than-average GMAT score.
The 80% range is really just a guideline that we use. The main takeaway is that you DON'T need a 700+ score to get into any of the top schools.
Good luck!
Scott
