I personally think it's extremely creative, and allows applicants to show how well they can present an idea in just 4 slides. One of the biggest problems I see in presentations is how the presenter often has 30 slides for a 10 minutes presentation, and the slides are jam packed with complete sentences that they just read off of.

Quoted for LOL-ness! :-D

Haha, you win, I fold!

Currently I only have 21 files in my folder, with stuff grabbed from here, tasks lists and dates, and some random musings of ideas for essays. maybe I'll get there by September or October!

In fairness, a large chunk are wav audio recordings of me practicing interview questions and taping them to see how good/bad the answers sound.

You guys are hilarious.

For you newbies, you don't have to be as obsessive-compulsive as rhyme is. I whipped all 4 apps out (and 3/4 of the stanford app, which I never finished) in less than 4 weeks. After my first app, my essays probably had 3-5 drafts. I'm not saying my way is the best -- I was totally exhausted and semi-nonsensical when I was done -- but there is probably somewhere in between. I think it depends on how quickly you write and how well you do at finding your stride early in the writing process.

Give yourself lots of time, but don't panic yet.

kryzak,
Chicago GSB has a student summer event scheduled in Los Angeles on July 23rd. I registered to attend that. Its at 7 pm and being held by the current students - nothing more fun that to kick back some beers on a monday night and get sone good insight into the whole app process and see how one fits into GSB.

The whole "powerpoint" essay is quite ingenious. I hope the admissions committe doesnt screen applicants coz they did not adhere to "Times New Roman" font or inane stuff like that - I know they wont, but after working for some crazy managers, I just feel that the devil is always in the details.

Holy Round 1, Batman!

But your experience last year will definitely make it easier. And your GMAT is firmly behind you, no?

Well ...you replied before i could Edit...8 in Round 1.  ..I doubt even the App's guru Rhyme can do so many schools in One round...I will be lukcy if i can do justice for 4 new apps in Round 1

2 Apps -will be just one essay ( Reapplication sucks -Not muchchance to tweak the essays -only hope Bump the GMAT score )

so i consider the app season as 6 new apps!

Last year exp. will def. help....probably i need to tweak the current essays and less time to really dig out the life stories

My app. success for Elite schools will depend on GMAT score..so re-taking it...........
