Entwistle, I have another question for you :)
did you use the Powerscore CR bible? I have that book but it does not seem to do much for me,infact, I get more confused with potential wrong answers v/s right answers  , I have the MGMAT CR book too as I bought it a set of 8.

My cr seems to have improved 20% and the average level of right answers in cr is up 50 points

Average wrong answer is also up after using the cr bible. I didn't like manhattan cr as much
I esp liked shell game and cause effect relationship explanations

I didn't use that book :P

However, since it's highly recommended, I'll definitely give it a look :D

Thanks Entwistle. It is a great book but looks like it is not working well with me! I have 3 more weeks to my test and need to do whatever it takes to increase CR accuracy.

if you haven't seen this already there is a CR question bank free for download here:
https://www.aristotleprep.com/free-resou ... stion-bank

It's more challenging then the OG. Even though they are LSAT questions, many of the "true" LSAT ones have been weeded out and the ones in the question bank are more similar to the ones tested on the GMAT. Hope this helps.

Thanks ibbys! That was helpful. I've bookmarked the link. I have not even completed the OG problems for CR, so once that is done, I"ll get to this link.

Not quite done yet :D

But that's a story for another time ;)

I just read your journey thread! When are you taking the test?

A couple weeks. Last minute fine tuning and AWA now.

Thanks for your posts on my thread.

CONGRATS Entwistle!!! Thanks for such a debrief!
I m also stuck up around 650 in Manhattan tests. I ll try to incorporate flash cards technique!
I totally agree to your experience, that when I tried improving my SC score, it went up pretty good but at the same time other sections in RC/CR suffered.
Currently, I m going through Kaplan Advanced. Do you recommend going through anything else?
What do you think my timeline should be? I'm on leave currently & planning to take next GMAT within 10 days from now. Do you think I should give more time?
Thanks Again...

Re: 650 to 710 in 60 Days :D [Debrief] [#permalink]
Congrats Entwistle.
Prior to GMAT, I took MGMAT un-timed tests and scored 660(Q42, V38), 690(Q47, V37), 680(Q47, 35) and 680(Q47, Q36).
I took GMAT for the first time in November 2010 and then December 2010.
I scored 620(Q46, V29) in Nov but my score came down on second attempt to 570(Q46, V22).
During first test I realised that i was slow at solving verbal. I had only ten minutes left for last ten questions. I guessed some of them and scored 29.
So during second test I hurried during verbal and scored even less, 22.
Please advice how i should go about improving speed while getting more correct answers.
Thanks

I used chineseburned's guide for the AWA and I didn't have much trouble with that... Wrote about 500 words for each of the essays.

Entwistle,

Could you please tell me where I can find this Guide for AWA.
