I am 35 years old and have not taken any other competitive exam for 13 years. GMAT was a big challenge to me considering family, office responsibilities, social network and top of all my own brain does not work as fast as it used to be.
All the time I prepared I was targeting 630-650. All my practice tests gave out 590-600. I was not sure even at the end of the test. 710 (48Q+40V) was a big surprise to me. AWA is awaited but I think those are easy considering the amount of emailing I do in office.
I know this is not extra ordinary score, but I hope people like me may take some boost from my experience.
I give credit to few things--
1. I did Manhattan’s verbal guides along with OG11 and its verbal review. That is very good combination specially for SC.
2. I purchases 800Score GMAT prep (tests only) to practice test experience (scored badly...()
3. I slept full 7 hours for last two days. This definitely helped me keeping cool, which I consider most important.
4. Finally, GMATClub helped me to maintain my motivation. I did not use any material from here, but just reading about the experience of people reduced my monotony.
I am not give GMAT again. Wish you all the best!!
