Congratulations!
That is a great score
really well done
usually i don't write here, 'couse i rarely feel i can contribute something new but,
i decided to participate this time and say that IMHO his score is true is real and after my own sad sad experience
i think that this guy is absolutely right
I got a sad 640 on my GMAT after 2 business degrees, strong English and Math
I studied for 3 months, did everything right, knew all the concepts, never had any problem with any part of the material
in a retrospect - I think i knew the material perfectly after 3-4 weeks of studying
but then i stressed out reading about all those millions of tricky/hard/impossible questions everyone was solving
so i decided to study more and more, and then some more
after another month my knowledge deteriorated
a week before the test i knew i'm burnt out
my brain stopped working
at the beginning of my study i could solve anything and after 3 months i did not understand how to solve the simplest questions
i got out the test center and cried for 2 hours
i felt so stupid
few days ago i consulted with an acquittance of mine
This great guy, he is really smart and got a 780 on the GMAT after 1 week of preparation, solving only official materials.
His study plan was essentially the same as the one outlined here with one distinction: he believes that one only needs to study concepts one doesn't already know. so one need to solve the
OG questions first and then see what to study.
He claims that a person with normal knowledge - the one that get around 600-650 on first diagnostic test should not study more than 1 month to get well above 700.
for my retake i'm going to follow his advice.
So, this guy here who got 790 is probably smarter than average, that's true.
I personally don't think he is a genius but a normal smart guy who studied the right way, according to his knowledge of the material, and got the score he deserved.
