If I use GMAT prep multiple times(more than 2 times), what is the chance that I will get repeat questions ?

It has more than a thousand questions but the chances after the second time are that you will see a few/quite a few depending on your level/answers, so i would not even consider those scores.

Is there a thread for solutions/questions that come out specifically of the GMATPrep tests?
I took my first GMATPrep test and I am reviewing wrong answers, but unfortunately the software doesnt provide explanations and in many cases I dont know how they got to the right answer.
Could someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Here is a link to a thread with supposedly all SC questions and answers (no explanations) extracted from GMAT Prep: extracting-all-the-questions-from-gmat-prep-93555.html

As far as I know I don't think anyone has done this for any of the other question types.

Thanks for the reference, I wish the explanations were included, but it will still be a good start.

What's the opinion on McGraw Hill's practice tests? I read some posts earlier that said the book isn't very helpful, but what about the tests that come on the CD?

I have "McGraw-Hill 2008 Edition GMAT" and "McGraw-Hill Conquering GMAT Verbal and Writing."

I did a practice test on the CD that came with McGraw-Hill 2008 Edition GMAT and scored a 660. Is that test computer adaptive? Or is it simply just questions by order (so my actual score on the GMAT would be much lower than 660?)

Thanks for your help!

You will get pretty close to exhausting the questions... there are about 1,500 of them in the software. So, may not be worthwhile. Also, I don't know if you need to take that many tests. I took 6 before my D-day.

the reason people give for doing that many is because they are a resemblance to the answers on the test

so if I exhaust the questions it should be a breeze on D day?

This would be way too easy to do :)
If you plan on getting a 700+ score, be prepared to encounter something you have not seen before.

Hey all - Total newbie question here, but I'm not sure.
Recently took the GMAT, considering re-taking.

Do you get new GMAT Prep Software (ie. the 2 tests) when you sign up for the GMAT a second time? Or is the free download of the 2 tests a one shot deal?

Sorry if this is a lame question, I just wasn't sure if when you paid your $250 again, if you received new practice CAT tests.

Thanks.

Has anybody taken the Knewton's diagnostic test?

I somehow found their scoring algo a bit weird. I scored a 610 (Q-46, V-27) but the number of questions that I got wrong are 6 (Quant) and 10 (verbal). There were hardly 3-4 wrong answers in the first 10-15 questions.

has anybody faced such an issue.

I just did the free Kaplan test and they were all questions from the OG! I'm not even sure if it was a CAT. Why would Kaplan repeat all the questions in its practice test from the OG? Wasted my 2 hours!

What are people's thoughts about the official GMAT Prep tests? I read they are the only ones with actual GMAT questions, but I've also heard people say that they're easier than the actual exam and don't give you a great indication of what your score will be. What do folks here think?

I did better on the Kaplan GMAT than the Petersons one. When I used the GMAT calc my score was in the Mid 600s.

Guys, what are your takes on the GMATFocus? Worth considering? Were the results consistent with what you really got in the real GMAT, just like GMATPrep?
