I like the quote, but I'm not sure Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is the best spokesman for that message. He is undoubtedly tenacious and has continued to work hard through his football, wrestling and acting endeavors, but his success is mostly due to his charm and family connection!

I'm a pretty big fan of Rocky, and his personality and appeal have taken him farther faster than simple hard work. He was the youngest WWF (at the time) champion ever (at the time), a millionaire in his 20s and a big screen actor by 30.

He is a huge success story, but I don't know if he's the poster boy for consistent effort.

Thoughts?

I think a better example would be someone who encompasses both The Rock's (actually The Rock was probably inspired by this man) charm and the qualities of persistence and hard work... Mohamed Ali... But nonetheless as far as showmanship is concerned The Rock is unrivalled in the WWE (well maybe The Undertaker..but that's more show and less talk)... Now I wanna go to the introductions forum and type in "It doesn't matter what your name is"

I have not related my thoughts to the 2rock2 figure.

I wanted to put emphasis on the words, on the meaning of the same because all your gmat journey is about consistency, eventually.

Hi carcass, I completely agree with the message. In fact so much of success on the GMAT is based on persistence, much more than people would think. My question is about the medium, not the message, especially since you're unlikely to encounter any resistance to the stated message. Any thoughts on the medium here?

Thanks!
