I have to make the same decision . . . not an easy one. How are you leaning?

I'm leaning toward Chicago, but it really is a tough decision since CBS offered me a small scholarship. My immigrant parents made note to tell me that I should just go to Columbia, because they've "never heard of the University of Chicago... what is that?" I'm 25 and not looking to prove myself to my parents though, so I'm disregarding that piece of advice.

What about yourself?

Your immigrant parents sound like my immigrant father. He used the same rationale to tell me to go to Wharton. Have our parents been talking?

So if I stay on the waitlist here again for the 3rd round of decisions, do they not make the next decision again until the fall? Or is there an interim summer decision?

I think last year they had people get in off the WL during the summer. But theoretically you could be on the waiting list until orientation day (August 19).

Whatever the count is, +1 to it! Heard the good news yesterday which put an end to my 5-months of anxiety after a double waitlist. Now to decide between Darden ($$+deposit) and Booth!

So did anyone get a rejection letter yet or an update to their WL status? I am on the waitlist and obviously didn't get a call, but neither have i gotten a rejection letter or any sort of update, so a bit confused as to what's going on.
maybe i'm freaking out too early, it's not even 9am in Chicago, so they have plenty of time to reject me throughout the day.

Anyone else reapplying next year? Any thoughts on asking someone from the AdCom for feedback in the hopes of improving the chances next year? I know given the number of applicants they can't just give anyone feedback, but do you guys think a couple of rounds of waitlist sitting warrants a small exception?

If you show up for orientation on August 19 you're going to be there alone. Orientation begins September 5.

Wow, I definitely had a bit of CBS on my mind there! Thanks for that -- I don't think I would have gone so far as to book a ticket for August 18 to Chicago, but I do appreciate the reminder.

I'm going on vacation this summer, from May to August (obviously predicated on my original intention of going to CBS). What am I going to do for three whole weeks...?

I'll probably reapply in a couple of years

Triple waitlisted!

It'll be great if you guys could update this spreadsheet. I am sure those of us who are still on the WL will greatly appreciate it.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... NOVE#gid=0

Also, can somebody please post the dates when the deposit is due and when the fall tuition is due?
