Thanks, Illusion. Don't mind at all (especially since I scour the message boards for others' profiles):

GMAT - 660
GPA - 3.2 (top liberal arts college)
6 yrs work experience (consulting/healthcare/actuarial science)
Age - 28
American / Multiracial

Since Emory is rolling admissions, I'm not sure there's a set R3. I applied on Jan 5th, but I didnt' get the sense that it was any more rigorous for me than if I'd applied earlier. I actually thought I didn't do that well during the interview last week, so I'm relieved to hear I still managed to make a good impression.

Hi,

I submitted my app for Round 1 on Dec 15, got interviewed on 1 /31/08..still waiting for a response! Should I be disheartened yet??

I think you are in good shape, but you know as well as anyone that you are in a highly competitive group from India, particularly this year.

As an FYI, it took 10 days from the date I was interviewed to get notification of acceptance...

Thanks. I haven't decided where I will be attending. I'm still waiting on decisions from a few more schools...

when did you do your interview -before submitting the application -or after ?

was it adcom initiated ?

Checked OPUS

My " TO DO List" shows that they are yet to receive my transcripts!

Damn - I fedex'ed the docs and the tracking shows they received it on "Feb 01 2008"

It generally takes then 5 - 6 days to update OPUS. I was interviewed on 1/31 and the status update was reflected on 2/6.

I completed my application the first week of January and received a response this week. Waitlistd :cry:

stats:
GMAT:710 V>Q, weird since i'm an engineer
WE: 3 years in technical marketing
ECs: Strong
GPA: 3.1 Electrical Engineering from prestigious school
Background: Hispanic Male

Working to get in still... it is my #1 choice.

Notification was updated on OPUS for WL. I had been checking OPUS twice a day. I received an email a few days after it was updated. There were no phone calls.

Emory gives high weightage to Quant Score of the GMAT! It was mentioned in the adcom chat and at info sessions as well

what's your strategy for the WL ?

This is for 2 year. Quant score was still ~80%, not sure how this compares to the average.

I responded to the waitlist letter and will receive feedback on my application soon. I think my weakness may be lack of experience. I'm 24 years old with only a couple years of job experience in marketing for a big tech firm. I plan to submit another recommendation.

I am also considering taking the GMAT again if my quant skills are a concern. On practice tests I was getting >90% on Quant. On test day I was shell-shocked with the difficulty of the 1st problem, which I ended up spending literally 10 minutes on. I know that my score can improve if i don't freak out.

Received the below mail - I hope they make the decision soon! - Current admits - How many days after receiving this mail,did you hear the admission decision?
