Hi All,
A question that is dawning on me off-late.
Am currently employed as a management consultant with almost 10 years of experience exclusively in Retail Industry. Am currently working in one of the big names in Management Consulting(Non-Big-4). Have been here for almost 4 years and prior to that was working as a consultant with one of the largest technology consulting firm in Retail space again. I have gained considerable amount of functional experience in various facets of retail. Unfortunately with so many years of experience am finding it increasingly difficult to crack openings in the leadership levels at Retail organizations.
Education Background: Engineering(4 years) + Post graduate Diploma in Management(equivalent to MBA) in a top-10 institute in India
Age and background: Currently 33 years old - with 10 years of hardcore consulting experience
My Question:
1. Will an International MBA help me crack the ceiling and enter Global Retail organizations at Leadership positions?
2. Will my age become a disadvantage(@35 yrs)?
3. Which College to focus for a specialization in Retail with 1 yr duration?
4. Does it make sense to continue to grow within my current organization, rather than HOPE to crack it elsewhere?
Have you though about EMBA programmes? With 10 years of work experience it might be more suitable
