Ask the admissions directors at the schools that you are considering applying to. Every school has a different level of quant knowledge necessary and some are far more quant heavy than others. If I were to guess, your plan of refreshing up on the basics at the local JC sounds like a good one.

Hi everyone,
I'm new here and am looking to apply to a FT program for next coming fall. I actually already have most of the application materials finished with 2 schools down here in So. California and the admission directors have indicated they are ready to accept me... except for the dreaded GMAT. I have an excellent undergrad GPA, work experience, essays, etc. But... unfortunately I scored lousy the first time - especially in Quant - so I'm in the process of studying and improving (hopefully enough to get in, which is 500ish). My undergrad was at a private fine art university where I majored in graphic design.
So here is my question: Even if I am able to improve my score enough to get into the program, how much quant. and actual classes will the students have to go through? I heard the typical program goes through Accounting, Finance, maybe Calculus, and others... is this going to be a major problem for students who struggled with the GMAT? I'm planning on taking Acct., Pre-Cal and Finance at a local JC before starting to help me out, altho. I realize the level of work is probably a lot easier.
Are there other liberal arts MBA majors on here? How have you fared? Or if you have gone through a MBA program, can you shed some light on this issue? Thanks.
