Hi everyone! It's an honor to be part of the GMAT Club community and I truly appreciate your help and input!
I am taking the GMAT in December and gave myself about 3.5 months to study. However, covering math basics has taken me much longer than expected, and now I have 2 months left to study and can't decide on the best way to plan my study for the remaining time. My original plan was to follow the
MGMAT 8 Strategy guides with CATs every week, but I don't have the luxury to do this anymore. I live abroad and only have the
MGMAT books and
OG 12 and 13 available to study on my own. I work full-time so my schedule is very tight. I am aiming for the high 600s or a 700 in the best of all scenarios.
I scored a 30th percentile in quant versus a 70th percentile in verbal so I focused on my math basics right away with the
MGMAT Foundations of Math book (which I highly recommend for anyone rusty on math), but this process took too long.
Now, Instead of going through all of the
MGMAT Strategy guides as a study plan, I decided to build a study plan around my weak areas based on CAT exams: focusing on weak areas per week, and then retaking the test and repeating. But I can't think of a systematic way to do this, and I feel like I'm not being as efficient as I should be.
My questions:
For those who have studied in a short period of time, do you think this is a good strategy, or should I go through all of the
MGMAT material instead? Do you have other related tips or study plans that worked better for you?
For those who have studied with the
MGMAT Strategy books, are there some parts/chapters that are absolute must reads? What would be the fastest way to get through them on my own?
In other words... since I don't have much time, what are the ABSOLUTE MUST-DOS?
Thanks so much in advance!
