Hi Hjort and Others,
I am planning to go for an MBA. First of all let me give you my profile:
Age:26
GMAT: 700(Q:50,V:34)
Undergrad: B.Tech from IIT. cgpa:7.1/10
Workex: 2+yrs in singapore.(non IT)
lets think for a while that my goals are pretty clear(actually its completely the opposite). my concerns are:
1.) my current boss and previous boss are not pretty good with their english and writing skills. though they will give good LOR, will their english matter?
2.) In my first job my company suffered a loss and had to restructure. and they decided to cut down on manpower. i was affected since their devlpt dept was not doing well and they retrenched me. i got another job within one month? so should i mention the reason for the one month gap? do we need to enter the exact start and end dates with regards to our empl? or can we just mention the start and end months? will the retrenchment affect my chances of getting into a top school(though it was not my fault )
3.) the companies that i work/ed for are not mnc's and my position/s is not great either. this is with regards to the exclnt education i received. but as many didnt make use of it and was sort of a vagabond in my undergrad days.
also can you evaluate my profile? my primary goal is a career switch into finance? got to research what exactly i want to do with an mba? but i have to do it since i am getting mad with my current job? my target schools are wharton, chicago, columbia, nyu, harvard. am i realistic? what are my chances?
thanks and regards,
