Statement 1
60 = BAO + BCO (external angle = sum of 2 internal angles)
= BAO + OBC (OBC=BCO, isoceles triangle)
=BAO + BAO + BOA (same rule as above)
= 3 BAO (BAO = BOA, iscoleles triangle)

Statement 2
OBC = BCO = 40
40 = BAO + BOA
= 2 BAO
