Agree with Mohater - tell us your raw Quant score and we'll answer your question. By chapter 1 you mean Arithmetic? (that's probably the most important chapter in the book)

Keep in mind that GMAT is really about basics. It is a little about fancy probabilities (but those are only 1 question per test). I see this mistake done over and over again - a person will know how to solve probability and combinations questions but not how to solve \(\frac{x}{y}\) where y < 0 and as the result - they never get to that one probability question they know how to solve. Sad but it repeats itself over and over.

hi bb - would you please guide me?

for now I am going ahead with the Kaplan Workbook. I plan to follow this up with MGMAT series for areas that I identify as my weaknesses.

Is this a correct approach?

rookieR,

That can work for you. One of the main keys with preparation for the GMAT is to ensure when you're studying, you're actually benefiting from the time spent. Far too many people prepping for the GMAT (on this forum and otherwise) spend countless hours studying and see little to no benefit.

The key is to identify the deficiencies and figure out how to address them

The MGMAT practice test provides the best feedback, while the GMATPrep is the most applicable as it was made by the GMAC group (the people who run the GMAT). Once you get a MGMAT book, you'll have access to six online exams w/a promise for no overlap in questions.

Make sure you read the AWA guide as well:

I am just getting started. but i noticed kaplan has an advanced class that requires 600+. Since I'm shooting for a top program that seems logical. mgmat doesnt appear to have any advanced class or a moneyback
