Dear All,
Good Evening!!
This is my 1st post here.
On Monday, I took the GMAT exam and it was a total disaster and therefore i had to cancel my score.
I must admit, I did not work hard, prior to the exam, I took leaves for 10 days and hence put in so much information in my brain that I could not absorb nothing, moreover I lost all the prior info that i acquired. My hands were shivering and I could not address the questions which I could have easily done. With more than 15 questions left in the last 10 mins, I just guessed them all as I read once that the perils of leaving the question blank are worst than getting them wrong, resulting in a steep negative curve. The same disaster with verbal.
I studied by myself and without a plan and i took few mock tests scoring 470-620 range before the exam.
I need guidance.
I understand that I have to be focused, consistent and strict in planning. I will have to fall in love with GMAT otherwise I will not be able to do it as I realize that I am slow, lazy and not motivated enough.
I will start studying from Sunday again and I will crack it this time.
I would go for a 3 month plan (2 hours per week day and 5 hrs on the weekends) as stated in the Forum for Novice. I would finish all the books but mastering each individual section before moving to another and will maintain error logs.
My quant and verbal both suck big time. I would start with Quant and then move to Verbal.
I find that the information on this forum is widely dispersed and different category of questions lie under different categories, also If I go to the root and select individual sections at
viewforumtags.php I find thousands of questions under each category. I would like to understand how should I select information so that I am sure that I have practised well for each concept that is tested and I understand almost 99% about this concept and that I have practised enough and its time to move onto the the next section ?
I do not want to waste time and effort which does not bring me results as I have already wasted a lot of time.
Hope to receive suggestions and feedback.
Kind Regards,
Gaurav
