hey,I received interview invitation also yesterday midnight in China, to be interviewed in HongKong.

My profile:

24 / M / Chinese
BA in International Politics form Peking University
Not very decent academic records (around 50%)
Internship in Consulting firm and mutual fund
1 year volunteer work after graduation
Currently working in China Mobile, a total of 11 months WE upon 2010 fall
GMAT 700
IELTS 7.5

I'm with you; I haven't received an e-mail yet either.

I'm wondering if they would contact applicants over the weekend...or maybe we'll have to wait until Monday?

@nmn: Don't think we would get any mails over the weekend. The mail that I got when I submitted my application asks us to wait for 3 WORKING DAYS from the deadline before contacting the admissions office. Seems like it's gonna be a while then

I don't think not getting a response yet necessarily means it's a no. It would be pretty cruel to make people wait a few extra days only to be rejected. And they definitely send out an e-mail either way. Hopefully it's some type of system error and includes people with both outcomes. At least that's what I'm telling myself

Hey guys, I'm pretty sure not getting an email DOES NOT mean a no- I remember reading a forum about LBS MBA admissions and everyone found on the same day whether they were accepted or not. If you were dinged, you would most likely get an email saying so.

I know it must suck to have to keep on waiting, but please don't lose hope. Hoping for the best.

Sorry to hear you have not received a response... it is strange because I sent my application at 2pm the date of the deadline and I heard from them yesterday at 17:17 (UK time)... best of luck to you all!

Btw ,I was reading an interview yesterday with the MBA admissions manager and she said that the GMAT score is not taken into account once you get to the interview stage (yeah!!! ) and that the ratio of getting an offer for those who are interviewed is 1:3... so quite a lot of people get rejected without an interview. Hence, it seems its not like for a Bachelor at Oxbridge, where 95% of the applicants are interviewed!

@kitsune,by the ratio of 1:3, does that mean for those getting interviews, their chance of be admitted is 33.33%?

1/3 is quite daunting and a lowering percentage than I had assumed ( I thought it would be somewhere closer to 1/2)

Oh... I thought it would be like 1/6! lol! (the only experience I've had with academic interviews has been for BSc at Oxbridge and it was around 1/9!!!)

Btw, I've just realised that the interview I read is from 2001! lol! A bit out of date now... :S Search for "BW Online | February 22, 2001 | Meet London's Admissions Director" in google.

Hhaha, I had an interview for another masters program at University of Toronto, and it was about 1 in 2 there.

I received an email saying I'm through to the interview stage around noon EST. The ratios make it seem much easier than a job interview actually, which like usually around 1/10. Congrats to the people who also got through. I'm sure they can't send out all the invitations in one day. Plus many people will be borderline so it will take more time to make a decision. I heard competition for this program is growing like crazy.

Hey guys,

Just received a mail from LBS. Got shortlisted for an interview & I am certainly happy after this extended wait over the weekend. I was informed that all mails were sent on Friday. However few mails didn't reach due to some sort of technical glitch. Nevertheless, hoping to hear the same from others (@nmn,KAS1986) who didn't receive their mails on Friday.

Congrats! Hopefully, we all get an interview and we all get in! lol!

Just like SGRSSR said, I received the e-mail explaining the technical glitch this morning too. I am also shortlisted for an interview!!! I'm very excited, although I'll probably be nervous all the way up until April 1. I'm interested to find out when and where I'll be interviewed.
