So, I've taken this whole waiting thing better than most people around here (I think). I have not lost sleep, I don't jump every time outlook rings, I only check my application status once or twice a week. But today I have officially gone into anxious wreck mode. I certainly don't *expect* a Wharton admit, but I do (did) expect an interview. If they don't come through for me in the next eight hours, I'll start feeling less confident about all my other applications and as a result all my other outstanding decisions are going to start weighing on me a lot more.

You've described exactly how I feel. I knew that it would be a long shot for me and I wasn't expecting much so I can't say I disappointed, but I really thought I did enough to earn an interview. Just like you, the lack of an invite has made me start to question my chances elsewhere.

Guys, don't despair. I've had 100% dings without interviews in R1 apps and 100% interviews in R2 apps. Just accept that there's some variability to the process which we can't fully understand, but in the end, you'll get to somewhere you like if you have done a reasonable app. season (eg: reasonable portfolio selection and reasonable number of apps.). Don't try to guess anything from only 1 school.

Any message coming from less than 3 or 4 schools is statistically insignificant.

And if not, you can join me next year for apps after we all "FUBAR this application season". :lol:

I know what you're saying lepium. Any of the elite schools out there could reject any of us for any reason. Can't draw any conclusions from just one.

I have interviewed with Duke and UCLA, but they interview everyone so it doesn't show any advancement in the process.

on S2S board, one guy received invite at 11:20 AM today.....

I lost my confidence now. I regret that I applied to only 5 schools.....

did you get the email from them?

I cant believe it man..........

My only feeling is that, they thought you were too good for them and might end up at Harvard.. sorry again to hear it..

Denied...!

Feeling so low... I expected atleast an interview invite as I think I have a strong application (except my GPA). If Wharton was a Ding without Intv, I wonder how the others would be. I am scared!

I bet it was my very low GPA! Wonder how I can recitify that and move on! For the time being... I totally clueless! :(

Hey Guys,

I know its not much comfort right now, but I was also DWI from Wharton. However, I did get accepted from Ross (w/ $20k/year as well) plus just got invited to interview with Cornell.

So this Ding is not a reflection of you or your application. You guys are all fine applicants and will get in a school or schools this year! So keep your chin up!

Thanks man. Time for all of use to move on. Still lots of decisions to find out about in the coming weeks.
