By portion, I meant paragraph. Irrespecitve of which approach you use (reading whole paras or some part of the paragraphs) just look at what purpose the stuff you read serve. Once you have that information for each paragraph, you can consolidate the main purpose of the whole passage.

its hard for me to understand abstract passages like this, i hope i don't see one like this on real test :roll:
