The main reason I wanted to do MBA was to become a business analyst. So I satrted the gmat prep June 2012. Got admission for part time MBA at University of Florida in south Florida. But during all this I also got a job offer for a Business Analyst position and I took it. The only problem now is this position demands development also, which means I am having to learn Java for this now. I am freaking out since after one month in the job I realise it is going to be really tougher than I thought it would. Now my only worry is how am I going to manage 15 hours of MBA work in a week if my job demands more work also. If I had stayed with my previous job, this wont be the situation, but I dint enjoy my previous job and hence changed it.
The university sent a basics of accounting book to start reading before the class starts and like hell it is hard. I have started doubting my capabilities to do an MBA itself.
I have paid $1500 fee. Should I quit now and concentrate on my job?
or should I just go with the MBA and bite the bullet for 2 years?
Any one felt same way before MBA? any advise would be appreciated.
Haven't experienced it, just offering some (unasked for) advice.
Well, when do you need to pay the next deposit? You can probably look to
diligently do both the things together till you need to pay the next fee and take a call if you are really stretched. Obviously, this might not work if you have already given up on the idea of an MBA this year.
Also, you should check with both your work place - whether the workload is going to subside in near future and the school - whether they offer any deferrals. But, I doubt this story of too much work is going to cut it there.
