Lorenzino, which schools are you interested in? I may be applying to a couple of US universities and I'm exactly in the same situation... 110+laude and I don't know how it compares to an American GPA

In the US I'm looking to apply to Harvard, Stanford and Wharton even though I am not too sure I have real chances to be admitted...

All of these schools requre you to submit your score exactly as it is reported in your transcript. So don't bother translating it to the 4.0 scale.
