He likes swimming, dancing and girls.

What is the significance of whether swimming or dancing is classified as a gerund or as a present tense action?

As a gerund the words swimming and shopping are the subjects of the sentence. As a present tense action they are the object of the sentence.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
Is "He" not the subject of the sentence.

Here "swimming", "dancing" and "girls" are all nouns.
Also "swimming" and "dancing" are verb words which are used as nouns, therefore gerunds.

subject verb gerund, gerund conjunction noun.

I think he is the subject of the sentence. The question is are there 3 objects?

Subject is the person or thing the sentence is 'about'.
