Hey, no. There would be more than that. You’ll mostly have 3 people interviewing, 2 alumni and a person from ad com. Good luck guys! Congrats on the short list!

The other slots are probably already taken :)

Hi all, just had my ESSEC MIM interview and I wanted to share some information to help everyone. It was a pretty casual experience, I logged on too early and they forgot to make a waiting room so I almost saw another candidates score (haha!); we started with intros from everyone, then went into why an MIM program and why ESSEC specifically. I have a science background and wanted to work in pharma/biotech/stem fields, and an interviewer asked me about how i thought the pharma industry handled covid. I think this was an impromptu question to check my understanding of the industry, so be prepared to answer questions on your chosen industry. Didn’t actually touch upon my resume during the interview, it was more based on fit and motivation. Good luck everyone!

I did my interview today too, it was chill but they try to block you on subject you are supposed to know, so be prepared and avoid talking about thing you don’t 100% know

^ Good to keep in mind; I was lucky and knew the answer to my question really well but it is also important to be cognizant of what you do and do not know

Know your application thoroughly! Don’t miss out any thing you may have mentioned on it and have in depth knowledge of it. Cheers, hope you ace it

Sorry if it’s too last minute - but it’s going to be a very great conversation with some great people.

Chill out! And enjoy the interview

ESSEC Interview Debrief:
There were 3 panelists: one professor of economics, one alum (80s graduate) who worked in PE and is now in VC, and an ESSEC M2 student who wants to get into PE. The interview started great, with me commenting on my experiences and then they were really interested in one experience of mine, and then we talked about that experience for almost 10-15 minutes. After that, they asked Why France, Why ESSEC, any experience traveling internationally, and questions related to international experience. They came back again to that one specific internship, having a conversation for 10 more minutes. Then, the alum asked me questions about consulting industry, impact of AI in consulting, sustainability in consulting, and asked about shark tank (that was really random).
The interview went really well, and the professor, and especially the alum, was really interested in my profile as I had no work experience and had some knowledge of the consulting industry.
Points to Note:
1. They looked at my essays and I wrote that I want to get into sustainability consulting at some point, so 10 minutes of the interview was based on this. (The alum mentioned it at the beginning of the interview and said we’ll have a conversation about that)
2. I don’t think many Indians apply to ESSEC w/o work experience, so this experience was really interesting and the panelists asked me questions that I could actually answer instead of checking on my knowledge of various sectors (Yes I mentioned which sectors I want to consult)
3. The interview was really deep and conversational, and I enjoyed it; they were immensely friendly and made me comfortable.
4. Interview duration: 55 minutes
Breakdown:
Conversation: 49 minutes
Q&A: 6 minutes ( I didn’t have many questions as I’ve talked to a lot of ESSEC students and alums)

All the best everyone who has their interview today!

I think I had the same 80s alum for my interview in r2! Really great person to talk to. I had mentioned about luxury and my interview was around it too, and about the current political scenario in my country. Really fun, lasted an hr and 5 mins, and I was selected
