It sounds pretty stupid when I say a 680 is enough for me and that I am done, considering that there are people posting >750 gmat scores. Here is my story.
Some facts:
1. I am studying at Uty of Texas, Dallas, not a top school by any means. They asked for 540 given the quality of school and part time and my experience. I completed my first semester on conditional admission. Now I have to give the GMAT to register for 2nd semester.
2. I am studying part time MBA just to get a degree.
3. Have about 12 years of industry experience and am working as a project manager at a startup firm
4. Already have a wife, 2 kids and a house that I pay for. And, my second kid is 3 months old. So, don't have much time to spare nowadays.
Given above facts, I studied for about 3 weeks, 2 hours a day. Last 4 days of preparation, I dedicated myself to the exam. Rest of the day was just regular preparation.
I studied the Manhattan SC, GMATPrep and learnt to time myself properly during the exam. The timing breakdown that I used was:
Q - 1-10 questions -> 30 minutes, 11-20 -> 20minutes, 21-37 --> 25min
V - kind of same breakdown except faster in later stages.
Cheers all and good luck
