Re: Anyone pulled 800 on GMATPrep? [#permalink]
I got another 790 (Q51, V49) on GMP1 yesterday. Two mistakes on each section not in the first 20 questions. Does that mean V51 is only possible with a perfect V?
This must have been the 10th time I re-took this test and I can finally say I did NOT see any new questions for a first time. Although, I had forgotten the answers to many - Q and SC in particular.
Unfortunately, it appears I've exhausted GMATPrep..... :?

Pelihu scored a 51V on the real thing (Those damn lawyers! ). Here's his debrief.

That's a real GMAT monster. Completely destroyed GMAT with his 50/51.

Wow, that's pretty insane that a 50/51 split only got him a 780.

Based on Kevincan's latest GMAT, apparently Q51/V50 gives you a 790....
And so does Q51/V49 and even Q51/V48 based on GMATPrep.....

The problem with Pel's score is that he scored a 50Q. That's only in the 95th percentile. For whatever reason the gmac does not see it fit to put something between 95th and 99th percentile for quant and therefore a score of 790 was probably not possible for Pelihu unless he reached 51Q, in which case he would in all likelihood have received the 800 score.

Yet another reason why I believe the gmat is skewed in favor of higher verbal scores.

Good luck (made an outlook reminder)

Re: Anyone pulled 800 on GMATPrep? [#permalink]
Hi,

Yep I got a 800 score of gmatPrep during my last days of Gmat preparation with almost 75-80% repeats in Quant and Verbal. But the challenge was to make no silly mistakes. I got a perfect Q-51, V-51. No question wrong.

Unfortunately..... 10 days after, I got a dismal 680 on my real Gmat :-(... Now retaking the Gmat again in October mid.

Lesson learnt: My 800 score on GmatPrep wont matter if I cant get a decent score in my real Gmat.

Have been studying for about 1 month and have taken several 3rd party CATs. First attempt at GMATPrep and hit Q50/V51 for 780 combined. Perfect 41/41 on Verbal (best effort yet by a wide margin, on any CAT).

Worth noting that I missed 8 on Quant and still got Q50. Surprising.

[Edit]

On the second of the two tests, I got 40/41 on Verbal (no repeats) and the algorithm gave me a 48. Tough!

However, on the Quant section I missed 8 again and again, Q50. That seems generous

no, but now that I have a lot of time on my hands after the GMAT, I may give it a whirl , moreso to ease me out of gmat mode. Tough to go from 24/7 GMAT for months and months, to nothing

it's not that hard to quit...

Once you get the score you want on the real thing it's pretty easy to make those books vanish :-D
