2010...How are you spending your last days before school?

So whats up with my fellow class of 2010 these final days? Whose working? Whose traveling? Whose has already moved? Whose second guessing? How those house sales going?

We just had accepted an offer on our house, after like 20+ showings and 3 months on the market. Hopefully everything goes smoothly from here on out...with the way the market is these days buyers seem to be pretty flakey. I have heard more than a few horror stories recently including a co-worker of my wife whose sale fell through the day before they closing. I just dont want to deal with a house half way across the country when I am in school...and renting was a no go. I know a bunch of other people here are/were trying to sell, I wish you guys the best because I can definitely relate with how horrible this part has been.

My wife and I have decided that renting a uhaul and doing all the work ourselves wont save a huge amount of money. Especially if we hire people to move furniture out of our house and then into our condo. I am now starting to gather quotes for moving companies, we will be having our stuff taken at the very end of July and move into our place in Evanston around August 4/5th. Having someone do all the work and have it insured against damage is just worth the extra grand (actually probably less) at this point. After all thats just a drop in the bucket when you total up the rest of everything.

I only have a week left of work...its now becoming very interesting. My replacement goofs off all day, I mean he literally spends 3/4 of his day doing the following sleeping, playing chess online, writing a fantasy novel (its about werewolves I think), oh and dumping food on the floor of his cube much to the horror of our cleaning lady. He returns from a 10 day vacation tomorrow so he is about to get torn a new one. He is going through a divorce so I would feel bad if his attitude about it wasnt so terrible and if he made even the slightest effort. Needless to say I will be missed but I also am getting out at a great time.

I still haven't finished Kellogg's online courses, I figure once I am done with work and the house inspection and everything is settled I can get to that. We also have to do some shopping for our KWEST trip and of course visit family before we leave. I also have to finalize school loans. I figure I will do that this week or weekend. Without paying for the house and our rent I definitely wont need as much so its time to rerun the numbers.

Now its time to sell stuff...Car, tools, furniture, then junk the rest of it. Already donated 2k worth of stuff to goodwill and that hasnt even made a big dent. ARGH.
