International Schools

Unless you really want to work in Australia, I wouldn't try for the Aussie schools. They pale compared to the top tier US/European schools.

Working in London is a cinch if you graduate from a top US school -

1) As a US citizen, the British will roll out the red carpet for you.
2) For the plebians (in the eyes of the British government, if you're not American or from the EU, you qualify as a plebian) who need visas, you'll qualify for the HSMP Program, although I've heard that the British Government is playing dirty games with this program. A judge rapped them on the knuckles but I'd supect that they'd still be at it. Google the story. I've added a couple of links below.

I thought if you graduate from a US school and earn an MBA it's usually enough points to get the work permit? Although I'd be surprised if they do not group by nationality like the schools?

An MBA is worth 35 points under the new system, and so is any other masters' degree. I forgot the details, but in short, you need more than 35. What's really annoying is that a major number of points is calculated based on your annual earnings in the past 15 months or so - so if you spent a year studying you're screwed.

It appears though that this point based system is different from the usual work permit procedure, where the employer has to go through all the hassle. I have no idea what criteria they use in that case - does anyone here have experience with this?

In my opinion, it should be relatively easy for LBS grads to find job through this scheme and the real hurdle is to gather the paperwork for the very bureaucratic process (and expensive one! approx. 800p).
