I started with a 800 score test which was a shocker. I got a 540 on the first one and a 545 on the next one.
Post this I studied from
OG, Manhattan SC, and Verbal Review. I also took help of the 1000 RC and 1000 CR files. I got Kaplan Advanced GMAT (also called Kaplan 800) on the penultimate day to improve on CR. My studies spanned a period of 2.5 months, during this while I was also a regular visitor to GMATClub and practiced tough questions here.
Regarding the tests that I took..
800 Score,
Manhattan GMAT, GMATClub, and GmatPrep.
800 Score – Much tougher than the real GMAT. But a good source for 700+ level Quant Questions.
Test I – 540
Test II – 545
Test III – 640
Manhattan GMAT – Awesome practice. It is quite close to the real GMAT. Ability to generate reports helps you pin point areas one needs to work on. A MUST DO.
Test I – 680 (Q47, V35)
Test II – 680 (Q47, V35)
Test III – 680 (Q47, V35)
Test IV – 680 (Q48, V35)
Test V – 710 (Q49, V36)
GMATClub – This is the best practice to get your quant fundas right. Highly recommended for people having a tough time with DS. I took around 8 tests and my scores varied quite a bit. From 60 percentile to 96 percentile. But on an average I scored above 85 in most of these tests.
GMATPrep –Simulates the real GMAT the most. Best practice ever.
Test I – 740 (Q50,V41)
Test II – 720 (Q49, V39)
REAL GMAT – My test was scheduled for 9 AM. I could not sleep the night before the D Day due to anxiety. I started with the AWAs and quickly finished them in 40 minutes. I found QUANT relatively tougher than GMATPrep. I started off slowly to ensure that I get the first 15 questions correct. I almost spent 9 minutes on two questions. My mind was not working as smoothly as it normally does due to lack of sleep. I had lost track of time. Before I realized what was happening I had only 13 minutes left and I was left with 14 questions. I woke up from my slumber and completed all the questions in the stipulated time (I am unsure about the accuracy of the answers I gave for these questions).
Verbal was pretty much what I expected. My scaled score was as follows:
Q49,V39
I was pleasantly surprised to see a 49 in Quant. I was not expecting such a score after my dismal performance.
THanks to everyone at GMATClub. Please let me know if I could help any of you with any queries you might have.
