Quick question for current students: Someone said in chat that some schools have recruiting policies that require you to continue recruiting w/ a company for which you are on the closed list even if you have an offer from a different company you'd prefer to take.

Is that the case at any school? most schools?

Just curious :)

Not at all the case here. The only sticky situation is if you get the offer a day in advance. At that point you pretty much need to find your own replacement or just suck it up and interview. They dont want companies to have open spots on their interview schedule. Finding people willing to take interview slots is not overly difficult at times like these. If you give the CMC notice a few days in advance then they take care of it for you. Companies have alternates for the closed lists and they just get bumped on to the closed list and then people on the openlist waitlist get spots on that list if an alternate is bumped from the open to the closed list.

Definitely not the case here (at Ross) either. In fact, OCD very strongly discourages students from collecting offers. If you are within 24 hours of the interview it's a little trickier, but otherwise there are waitlists for almost everything and you can manage it online - you cancel and then the first person on the waitlist gets a spot and is very happy :)
