What do you mean by shortcuts? Making it simpler to post math symbols?
I mean buttons like smilies or "B", "i" and so on. Just one click and you have something like that: /frac{}{}

do you have a specific use case for pasting/attacing many small images?
I always thought about images that table view along with unnecessary info could look better. Recently, I was thinking about writing the guide on how make a good presentation but imagined how it would look with many small/average images and decided to post the suggestion. By the way, [img] style let us post a few images in one line and even insert text between them....
OK. got it. Would this be a better fit for your needs then?
(it still displays the "useless" information but does not get in the way.

Code:
[aligntable=left,100,0,0,0,#ECECEC,#ECECEC][attachment=0]compas.jpg[/attachment][/aligntable]
Here are the parameters: align,width,marginleft,marginright,border,brdcolor,bkgrdcolor]{TEXT}[/aligntable]
Second parameter is the width of the table, and #ECECEC is the background color for the table as some browsers (Chrome show the post funky otherwise)
