I found the information on this site valuable. Using recommendations of others and from book reviews from this site and Amazon etc I decided to do the following:
- Take GMAT prep
- Go through general strategy (Kaplan Premier) and all questions from that book.
- Take another CAT exam
- Go through all
OG questions
- Address with specific books (eg. Quant, verbal, or SC, PS, DS etc).
The general book I used was Kaplan Premier online and it’s not really too hard to get through, although it very much depends on your time. You can go through each section in 2 nights if you wanted to, which is what I did. At that rate you’ll finish the entire book, questions, properly review your wrong answers, and create your
error log in about 2 weeks. After all this I realised SC was my weak point so I’m going through
MGMAT SC as well as
OG at the same time. I personally wouldn’t recommend going to specific books before going through general strategy, as you don’t know where to focus your efforts.
The rate you go through books depends on your own pace and date of your exam. I’m intending to take my GMAT in 2.5 months so I wrote out a schedule and am sticking to it. This helps me to keep focus. There is a sample schedule on this forum as well. Good luck.
