Re: Calling Fall 2010 Chicago Booth Applicants [#permalink]
Hi all,

I have submitted the R1 application yesterday.

This is regarding the powerpoint slides.
I checked the slides both before uploading and downloading the same from the site after uploading it.
The slides were fine and there weren't any alignment issues.

However, today when one of my friend viewed the same in his computer, there seems some alignment issues in the slides.
Also when i view the same slides in google documents (without downloading), the alignment issues exist.

But now when i tried to convert the ppt to pdf format online and view the same, it seems to be fine.

Has anybody else faced this problem? Now, i am wondering in which Microsoft PPT version will the Adcom will view the slides, while kicking myself for not uploading it as .pdf :(

Also, i have written name only on the first slides. Is that ok?
I was under the assumption that name is only to map each individual document with the application, since the system doesn't seem to generate the file name as per App ID. So, name on the first slide would be enough, as they won't be printing individual slides separately and try combining them! Is this assumption wrong?

Thanks,

Hi all,
I've moved to r2 as I felt my applictaion was not eady.
For essay 2 on feedback what is the kind of feedbak/ instances that people are talkign about? Is it better to be honest or are their some pieces of feedback that are too frank to share?

In for round 1 (although one of my recs isn't in - I expect that he'll be in the next couple of days)

I must have been the very last Booth applicant - I glanced at the clock when I was entering my credit card info and it read 4:57PM (CST)!! Felt like I was in a James Bond movie - the bomb explodes just as I jump off the ship - haha!

My status still says "Incomplete" for my application!

I have everything in, including both recommendations (last one came in very early yesterday morning).

Were we supposed to have our Official Transcripts sent in already or was that only for verification once accepted?

Here's what mine basically says:

It's because of the reccommenders...they will eventually verify them and then your status will change to complete!...mine was submitted until yesterday, then it changed to complete

I talked with 2 year student who helps adcom in reading applications. There are a few issues I would like to point out.

1) Presentational materials are printed in color and attached to the application package.
2) She didn't see any problems with ppt formating. I was first guy who asked her about that.

Good luck everyone!

Did anyone else get an odd email from admissions@chicagobooth.edu? It had an image with a bad link at the top and "Dear Your Name," and nothing else. At this point, I've checked it on two lap tops running two different versions of Outlook and looked at the HTML coding. That appears to be what was sent.

Nope, just received an email yesterday saying that my status changed from submitted to complete...

If it is something important, you should notice a change in your status...

Submitted for Round 1 on time . . . unfortunately both recommenders missed the first deadline. One says he's since submitted and the second is using the extension period as the new deadline. Looks like I'll be incomplete for at least a few more days. On a positive note, I went to the Booth Live event on the 16th and it was a blast. The academic rigor of the school was definitely emphasized and lots of good info about marketing and experiential learning. The building was by far the best bschool facility that I've seen, although Duke's is a close second.

I am pretty sure that this means that they checked everything was complete in the recommendations (the letter itself, signature, the questionnaire) surely they haven't either called or emailed the recommenders as I have just met with one of them and he didn't mention it...

Those verified fields are probably just manual checks that the info is actually there instead of just trusting in the check done by the application platform...

Do not overthink it, just cross your fingers until Nov 11
