using "like" inappropriately, for example:

mary loves little mammals like sheep. (INCORRECT)

mary loves little mammals, such as sheep (CORRECT)

'like' should only be used when comparing two or more similar things

ex: mary, like jane, loves little mammals. (CORRECT)

..

"whether or not" - it's redundant... GMAT only likes "whether"

mary does not know whether or not she should milk her sheep today (INCORRECT)

mary does not know whether she should milk her sheep today. (CORRECT)

..

there's a ton of these, and any good SC book will have a comprehensive list. i'd recommend MGMAT SC.

Just because - This depends upon the context. Not always incorrect
Just like - always avoid
Hopefuly - always avoid
Being - This depends upon the context. Not always incorrect
To be - This depends upon the context. Not always incorrect

seemingly - always avoid
Reason... because - always avoid
and ..also - always avoid

instead of "one time " use "once"
instead of "two times " use "twice"
instead of "liable " use "likely" ( Likely to be is an Idiom)
instead of "Do it " use "Do so"

Will add some more to this list ...

Also, In the King alfred SC, B is the right because a Double past was required. Hence "had" should be used. It had nothing to to do with "just because".

To plan on - INCORRECT
Different From - mostly Incorrect , Use Differ from or Different Than
Depends on If - Incorrect , Depends on whether - Correct
Any sentence starting with TO + VERB is - Mostly INCORRECT
dated at - INCORRECT
Estimated at - Incorrect
Being - Mostly incorrect
