I've scheduled for December 17, and just booked my flight for December 16... next week! It was the only date left before the holidays, and I want to go as soon as I can. Plus, I'm about 3000 miles off from United Premier for next year. Airfare's a little rough all the way from SF, but hopefully it will be worth it in the end.

Status check page (before you log-in) was just updated with a podcast from the Asst. Dean of Admissions. Essentially saying that interview invites have started to go out and that they will continue to go out until February 15, so don't worry if you haven't gotten one yet. Apparently it's part of a new podcast series updating applicants on what's going on.

A lot of us will be volunteering with Admissions on the 17th (despite the fact that we have a finance final the next morning!) to meet applicants who're interviewing that day - you know talk over coffee, chit chat over lunch, and generally soothe nerves. Maybe I'll run into you swank6?

Good luck to everyone invited to interview, as well as the ones still waiting.

solaris - I think I can speak for everyone when I say we prospective students truly appreciate the time you guys take to help us out, especially given your tremendously busy b-school schedules. Thanks a ton! I will PM you a little more info.

Anyone have any idea if Stern sticks strictly to the notification by email that your status is changed and then you check the site to see if you're admitted/dinged/waitlisted? Or do they ever call?

There's apparently a *chance* that I will find out if I am in or not by Christmas....

Trying to figure out how nervous I should be every time I get an email to my personal account... :?

LB20, the application status change notification e-mail comes first, followed by a call from the person (if admitted) you interviewed with either the same day or the morning after.

If you don't hear by the 23rd, you'll have to wait until the 4th of Jan.

Thanks for the info--very helpful. I figured it wouldn't happen until right before Christmas if it happened at all in 2009, but I am definitely expecting to not hear until that first week in January. Fingers crossed though.
