Hmmm, so JB, did she give you the impression that adcom already had an initial decision on the candidate that was pending the interview results? That is the interview results would confirm/change their already well-formed opinion of the applicant? Or am I misunderstanding?

Just interviewed with an AdCom member London, and typing this out from a starbucks next door. Think it went pretty well.Hopefully, anyway. I think it's great they actually flew out admissions officers to do interviews outside the US.
She said we had an hour, but that she didn't expect it to take the whole hour. I probably spoke too much, so we went over by 5 minutes, but she was cool about it. Like someone said earlier, it was very conversational; she probably asked me like 5 questions, all standard stuff.
One thing she mentioned in response to my question is that for those who got interview invites, the decision is only pending the interview report being submitted. So it would seem that the interview is pretty key. Time will tell.
